student conflict resolution center

SCRC History

Since 1968, the Student Conflict Resolution Center (SCRC) has been assisting students resolve campus-based problems and concerns. Originally founded as the Student Ombudsman Service, it merged with the Student Advocate Service to create the Student Dispute Resolution Center in the 1980's. Until 2005, the Student Dispute Resolution Center was a student organization, operating as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, entirely student-fee funded.

In 2005, the Student Dispute Resolution Center became the Student Conflict Resolution Center and an office within the Vice Provost of Student Affairs. In order to ensure impartiality for the students, faculty, and staff, a charter was put in place recognizing the independence of SCRC.

Today, SCRC is still student-fee funded and serves approximately 600 students per year.
