SCRC Advocates provide assistance to students who are involved in grievance and disciplinary proceedings. Students can choose to work with an Advocate when they have been accused of a violation of the Student Conduct Code, scholastic misconduct (cheating, plagiarism, etc.), or residence hall violations. A student may also choose to work with an Advocate to appeal a suspension or termination from an academic program. An Advocate can advise and guide a student regarding what to expect from the process, help students prepare and present their case before hearing bodies, and can also speak on behalf of the student during the hearing process. The student and Advocate will meet at the student's request to discuss the case, understand the policy that has allegedly been violated, and create a plan for proceeding. Advocate services are free of charge.
